Dr. Noemi Prieto
DVM
Dr. Noemi Prieto’s journey with High Desert Animal Care Hospital began in 2008, when she joined the team as a veterinary assistant. Her love for animals and passion for veterinary medicine inspired her to continue learning and growing within the field.
Prior to attending veterinary school, Dr. Prieto earned her Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license, further expanding her knowledge and clinical skills. In 2017, she was accepted to veterinary medical school. Even while pursuing her degree, she remained connected to High Desert Animal Care Hospital, returning during school breaks to work as an extern and continue gaining hands-on experience. After completing veterinary school, she returned to High Desert Animal Care Hospital as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, bringing her journey full circle.
Dr. Prieto is passionate about helping pets feel their best and believes that client education is an important part of providing excellent veterinary care. She enjoys working closely with pet owners to help them better understand their pets’ health and make informed decisions about their care.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Prieto enjoys spending time with her two beloved French Bulldogs, watching movies, and traveling.
Dr. Rimsha Malik
DVM
Dr. Rimsha Malik was raised in Brooklyn, New York and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Princeton University in 2021. She went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2026. After spending most of her life on the East Coast, Dr. Malik made the exciting move to sunny California to begin her veterinary career.
During her education, Dr. Malik gained experience in shelter and community medicine, clinical research, as well as zoological and wildlife medicine, helping care for a wide variety of animal species. Her professional interests include surgery, dentistry, and pediatric medicine. She has a special passion for feline medicine and is Cat-Friendly Certified. Mr. Malik is also RECOVER CPR Certified, Peaceful Euthanasia Certified, and USDA accredited.
In her free time, Dr. Malik enjoys fostering litters of neonatal kittens and caring for them as they grow.
